AgVet Chemical Users Course (Level III)
Previously called the Farm Chemical Users Course, this course is the industry standard for training in chemical use, storage and handling. This course provides the required training for many Industry Quality Assurance Programs and is necessary to apply for the Victorian Agricultural Chemical Users Permit (an ACUP is required for users of Schedule 7 and other Restricted Chemical Products).
It covers pest ID, Modes of Action, label interpretation, issues associated with chemical use, formulation types, weed and pest control application, animal health, transport and disposal, preparation and clean up, recording and other procedures.
Option The Distance Learning program provides the options and flexibility for people to do the course in their own time and place. The course materials involve the use of a CD which will run people through the exercises as they go. The work will be submitted to a tutor, who will arrange the final face-assessment and practical session. This program will provide producers with an alternative to the face-to-face AgVet chemical course to choose from, thus freeing up time in travel and class attendance.
Online Learning Option
The Online program provides the flexibility for people to do the course in their own time and place, with the requirement that they have reasonable internet access. All of the resource and exercises are online and set in a systematic manner. Work is submitted online and a tutor will correct each section, then arrange a final face-to-face assessment and practical session.
This program will provide producers with another alternative to the face-to-face AgVet chemical course, thus freeing up time in travel and class attendance.
