We’re excited to announce our fifth SmartFarm is officially open!

The Hamilton SmartFarm will focus on the production of feed for livestock and high rainfall cropping with staff using cutting-edge research to help address emerging climate change issues facing high-rainfall livestock and grain farmers.

Home to the world’s largest ryegrass field experiment, the Hamilton SmartFarm is accelerating the plant breeding process to help ensure farmers have faster access to pasture varieties that are more nutritious for their livestock and can also withstand the impacts of a changing climate. Meet the AusChem Team...

Rob McRae is a grain producer and sheep farmer at Wallup in the Wimmera region of Victoria.

Rob has also been involved for over 20 years with the Victorian Farmers Federation and Grains Council among other organisations.

A passionate community advocate, Rob has spent many years increasing awareness of farm management practices and has continuously lobbied for opportunities for grain producers to gain education and understanding of new markets and management practices with a focus in recent years of ensuring regenerative farming practices are providing opportunities for future generations.

With Rob’s children working both on and off farm and now becoming more involved with his grandchildren, Rob see’s the importance of succession planning on farm and wants to see positive outcomes for communities with ongoing planning in place within stakeholder organisations, this in turn supports grain growers to help develop communities with holistic approaches.

Rob has been on the AusChem Training Ltd. Board since 2007, and is currently acting as Chair. Overall if Rob could impart knowledge onto todays up and coming young farmers he would like to express the importance of staying involved in your local community, keeping in touch with family and reaching out, especially when times are tough.

Sometimes it can be difficult to stay positive but passion and confidence in yourself and your abilities needs to be your driver. Take things on with gusto but be sure to check in with the community around you so you never feel alone.

Meet the AusChem Team...

You have probably all spoken with Jenni on the phone at some stage. A Gippsland born and bred lady, Jenni has not only raised her children locally but now her grandchildren are a big part of her life. Jenni has grown with the AusChem family over the last 16 years and can recall many a familiar story when fondly discussing AusChem Training.

They say it takes a village, and Jenni is a strong believer in communities banding together and helping one another, by paying kindness forward and sharing our strengths with others as this provides a better foundation for all.

Jenni would impart on those around her that she would love to see everyone look after their health and do things that make them smile. Walks on the beach, bushwalking and enjoying her fur babies are what really brings a smile to Jenni's dial.

Jenni is a valuable keystone in the functioning of AusChem Training, if you have queries about any courses through our accredited trainers, Jenni will be the lady you speak with first.
