Chemical Users Course (Level III) – Online
This course is the industry standard for training in chemical use, storage and handling. It was previously called the Farm Chemical Users Course. This course provides the required training for many Industry Quality Assurance Programs and is necessary to apply for the Victorian Agricultural Chemical Users Permit (an ACUP is required for users of Schedule 7 and other Restricted Chemical Products).
It covers pest ID, Modes of Action, label interpretation, issues associated with chemical use, formulation types, weed and pest control application, animal health, transport and disposal, preparation and clean up, recording and other procedures.
There are three steps involved in completing the course online:
- Pre-Course Assessment – completed online with multiple choice questions. It usually takes 3-4 hours but can be completed at your own pace. Once you have completed this, we will enrol you into the next available group training session; these are held on the first Tuesday of each month.
- Practical component – completed via an online group training session with our accredited trainer via Zoom. It usually takes around 5 hours.
- Video Submission – submit a short video of you completing the practical assessment task to your trainer. A list of items you will require to complete this step can be found here.
There is a recording of a live zoom session provided by SpraySMART Pty Ltd, RTO 40867. The trainer of the zoom session will enrol you and provide you with their contact details for any questions that you may want answered arising from the training.
